AlSi, AlSiMg, AlSiMgCu
Indicative alloy chemistry for some of the AlSi(Mg, Cu) alloys are presented in the attachments below. The data sheets give typical physical and mechanical properties for these types of alloys as well as areas of application.
AlSi - alloys
Due to its excellent castability, the AlSi alloys are mainly used for highly complex and thin-walled castings.
AlSiMg - alloys
Universal alloys, that by applying heat treatment combine good castability with high material properties. Applications include wheel rims and chassis components.
AlSiCuMg – alloys
Heat-treatable alloys with moderate to high strength and hardness. Used to a large extent in cylinder heads.
