Hydro presents the entire value chain when producing aluminium. From refining bauxite and generating its own electrical power, to producing primary aluminium and manufacturing products such as casthouse products, building systems, extrusions, rolled products, and automotive and transport.
Hydro is the largest and most versatile aluminium company in Germany.
The company operates three rolling mills in Grevenbroich, Neuss and Hamburg. In Neuss, Hydro also operates the largest primary aluminium production in the country. Hydro’s other activities in Germany include extrusion, precision tubing, automotive structures and building systems.
One of Hydro’s main building systems brands – Wicona – has its base in Ulm.
Hydro has about 4,700 employees in the country. In fact, outside of Norway, no country has more Hydro employees than Germany.
The company’s team is spread throughout the country in sales offices, research and development facilities, and manufacturing sites.
